The World Indoor Track & Field League (WITFL) is set to modernize the sport of track and field with its inaugural season beginning in Las Vegas in 2026.

Headquartered at Z Athlete Village, the WITFL aims to bring a new level of excitement and engagement to track and field by focusing on versatility and overall athleticism. Unlike traditional track and field competitions, which often emphasize specialization in specific events, the WITFL features teams of well-rounded athletes who excel across a range of disciplines competing head to head.

The World Track & Field League is where athletic prowess will meet competitive excitement! This league brings together elite athletes from around the world, each competing to showcase their speed, strength, and agility.

 

Teams will compete in a series of exhilarating events, from sprints, hurdles and relays to jumps and throws, each designed to test their skills and push their limits. With a carefully crafted competition format that includes qualifying rounds, finals, and prestigious championships, every meet is a chance for athletes to shine and for teams to make their mark.

 

Expect fierce rivalries, breathtaking performances, and moments of triumph as our league unfolds. Join us for a season of high-stakes action and witness the best in track and field battle for glory and international acclaim!

Team Structure

Building successful team involves a well-organized structure where each role is crucial to achieving optimal performance. Here’s a breakdown of the key positions within a team:

Head Coach: Oversees the team’s overall strategy, training, and performance. Develops meet strategies, makes tactical decisions, and manages team dynamics.

  • Assistant Coaches: Specialized skills coaches assist the head coach by focusing on specific areas such as event specific skills, competiton structrure and decision making. Each assists in practice sessions, meet preparation, and overall athlete development.

  • Team Manager: Handles administrative tasks including scheduling, social arrangements, and communication between the team and management to ensure smooth operations.

  • Strength and Conditioning Coach: Focuses on physical fitness, injury prevention, and rehabilitation. Creates tailored workout programs to enhance performance and minimize injuries.

  • Athletic Trainer: Each team is provided medical care to manages injuries and support rehabilitation. The league’s athletic training department works closely with the strength and conditioning coaches to maintain peak physical condition of each individual athlete.

  • Team Captain(s): Acts as a liaison between athletes and coaches. Motivates teammates, represents the team in meetings, and helps enforce team rules and culture.

  • Athletes: The core of the team, each with specific roles based on their strengths. Athlete work on individual skill development, contribute to team chemistry, and executing competition strategies.

  • Support Staff: Includes statisticians, video analysts, recovery therapists, sports psychologists and nutritionists who provide insights, data, and support to enhance team performance.
